Software Engineering Radio podcast Rocks

I have been listening to the Software engineering radio and I think it rocks and is well worth a listen to. I enjoy the fact it is purely about programming and not focused on a particular language, this allows the show to give a general focus on programming issues, rather than get to worried about particular language issues and release dates of this or that and all that Jazz.

The show is a mixture of speakers and it is not really about java but is more about general programming in general. The fact it is not to obsessed with Java is I think it's greatest strength because it is more interested in programming rather than news about Java.

I really recommend the first two episodes about Patterns and dependencies, I listen to these episodes in the car to and from work and found them really interesting. I also enjoyed listening to Model Driven Development because it's something I have been interested in recently.

this weeks episode has an interview Gregor Kiczales who is one of the fathers of AOP (aspect orientated programming) which is something that I don't use but like the sound of and like the idea of for certain things.

I listen to a few podcasts and this is one of them and I thought I would promote them and encourage other people to check them out.

I recommend people check out the podcast, here's the link

  • Actually even I am thinking of creating another blog just for java related stuff. But havent got the time yet. I am busy in a project and hence not much time for that blog but I will definetely try to make one in the future not just for java 5 but for other java technologies as well. I have many links which I find usefil but then forget to bookmark it. neways do keep me informed abt the free mock exams that u may find for scjp5.
